Kate White

Kate White is a seasoned executive leader with significant experience in strategic thinking, research and analysis, organisational development, business development, change management and governance.

Kate’s leadership career spans the public, education and community sectors. Previous roles include CEO of ACA Queensland (the state’s peak body for providers of early childhood education and care), Principal Advocacy Officer at the Office of the Public Guardian, Head of College at Duchesne College (UQ) and CEO of YWCA Queensland (one of the state’s leading organisations for women and girls, active across community housing, domestic violence, disability services, and training and employment).

Kate has a commitment to active citizenship and community service; she has served on governing and advisory bodies for more than 20 years. Kate is a Director of Lockhart River's Puuya Foundation, former Chair of the Queensland Council of Social Service (QCOSS) and member of Queensland’s Treaty Working Group.

After moving to Toowoomba from Sydney in 2001, Kate became an ‘accidental advocate’ for regional Queensland and the tremendous opportunities presented by regional living. She is acutely conscious of regional: urban disparity and inequity, and continually seeks to address this as part of her work.

Originally trained as a journalist and editor, Kate has had a lifelong interest in issues affecting women and children, and has been active in this area for more than 25 years.
